What to Wear on a Ski Trip & What I Wore this Weekend.

Hello everyone!

With winter in full force, we have to start thinking how we can be outside and bear through this weather. For example, extreme winter sports! I personally am not into many winter sports (snowmobiling was my go to but I haven't done that in 10+ years), so this one is tough for me. However, this year I am going to have to be. Hubby and I signed up to go on the youth group ski trip this year with church. Yikes. CJ of course will love it, I will probably be sitting in the lodge reading a book. Nonetheless, it is going to be cold and snowy so I thought I would talk about what the essentials are for a little weekend ski trip away.

Of course you will need all your cold weather gear essentials ie hats, snowpants, boots, gloves, facemask, scarf, coat, ski and snowboard gear. But I am talking about how to stay chic underneath all those layers. And what I am going to be wearing to stay warm!

All comfy and cozies all day!

I plan to wear my comfiest and warmest pullovers paired with my base layer thermal leggings that I have talked about before! Then pair it with comfy and fur lined boots for warmth, a scarf because cute AND cold, and a beanie to keep that head warm. Its a lot of layers but many of the pieces double as a cute addition, so I will be rocking that ski resort vibe!

Now let's say you get off the slopes and you're in a much more romantic setting than we will be. Maybe you want to grab a glass of wine and have a nice dinner to close out your getaway. Here is an easy way to take those same chic layering pieces, and dress them up for dinner!

Easy change out! Still comfy, still cozy, so cute!

Here I swapped a pullover for a long black cardigan. I kept all the warm pieces but just changed out the pullovers for something a little nicer! This sweater is awesome because it is long enough to wear with leggings but is a chic black to elevate the otherwise pretty simple look! You could always change out the boots for heeled booties if you don't have to tromp in the snow!

This post is simple, but I just wanted to give you an idea of how I would choose to stay cute, cozy AND comfy while entertaining teenagers at a ski resort. We know not all of life is glamorous, so this post serves a way to keep up the fashion is less glitzy and fun parts of life!

We had another fun weekend away this past weekend, and even though I posted a couple of times, I wanted to give you more outfit details!

Wore this look to the Henry Ford museum and Campus Martius Park downtown Detroit, and threw on a jacket and glitter booties for dinner!

I actually haven't had much of a chance to talk about how much I love this Kate Spade backpack. I have the nylon tech backpack (I linked the 15' one but mine is smaller than that), and it is super lightweight, carries a lot, and is so convenient! Trust me, I love carrying a good bag, but I truly love the ease and convenience of this backpack, and its more casual look for an easier option! It was absolutely perfect for our little weekend away!

Thanks for reading along, and get ready for more packing posts!

Stay warm and stay safe out there!
